Complying with New CA Requirements for Violence Prevention Plans
June 13 @ 9:00 am
In 2023, the California Legislature passed SB 553 to address violence in general workplaces. This bill creates a new requirement for all employers (not already covered by the healthcare workplace violence standard) to create and maintain a workplace violence prevention plan. As with other safety plans required by the state, employers must also plan and arrange for employee training, incident tracking, and other recordkeeping.
Join Sierra HR Partners for a discussion on workplace violence as defined by this new law. We will review what steps employers can take to create company-specific violence prevention plans, including the initial assessment to identify a company’s unique risk factors for each type of workplace violence. We will also discuss workplace violence incident logs and required recordkeeping.
